SOCAR

Giving nature its energy back

 
SOCAR was the first company in Switzerland’s petrol station and energy market to introduce CO2 compensation for every litre of fuel topped up. GRIP was commissioned to assist with communicating the relevant measures. We see SOCAR’s decision as representing a unique opportunity for an energy specialist to give something back to nature – and to create sustainable awareness of this thanks to incisive messages.

 
 

Strong storytelling with eye-catching visuals
The unique challenge of this task not least lies in making the population aware of compensating the CO2 generated when filling up. This has long been common practice for airlines, but it needed to be established from the bottom up in this particular instance. As a result, support is given to existing and potential clients, from the very start of the user journey to every single touchpoint in it. Alongside communication designed to merely provide clarification, clear goals for awareness and action are also to be attained. To this end, GRIP handles all the communication from A to Z, setting out the selected messages in a targeted way.

 
 

Using a fuel card to turn consumers into accomplices
Alongside content production, an SEA and social media campaign and various other measures from initial contact right through to the petrol pump, GRIP is also responsible for designing a campaign-specific fuel card. This makes CO2 compensation child’s play, not least using meaningful visuals to give clients the positive feeling of contributing to SOCAR’s commitment to protecting the environment.
