YOND
Giraffes returned to Zurich Zoo in 2020, after 64 years away. Along with other wild animals, they found a suitably spacious outdoor home in the new Lewa Savannah. But lots of people are unaware that the giraffes had returned to Zurich as early as 2019 in a perfect habitat in Albisrieden: the new, future-looking office building YOND.
Let’s leave zoological habitats aside for a moment and turn to the human workspaces of the future. The YOND office building in Zurich’s Albisrieden district saw Swiss Prime Site design workspaces that offer simply unbeatable levels of simplicity and functionality, systematically tailored to the diverse needs of modern SMEs.
The key? YOND offers flexible-use rooms with a height of 5.5 metres. The rooms can be modified horizontally and vertically on an ongoing basis as the situation demands it, depending on the tenant’s current needs. This is made possible by a system with variable intermediate floors and a robust building structure that enables it to bear heavy service loads. The striking, minimalist architecture, room height and large windows create a somewhat industrial atmosphere.
Before all these companies moved to YOND, the giraffes we mentioned earlier did indeed find a home in the 5.5-metre tall rooms. Virtual giraffes, we mean – not real ones. GRIP used the giraffe as a key visual to illustrate the room height during the launch and marketing phase. YOND’s communication presence with these friendly cloven-footed creatures had a real impact: 15,200 square metres was let within a very short period of time. Today, this space is where innovative, entrepreneurial creators can really let their ideas run wild.
